Could a new toilet innovation save marriages?
Couples whose relationships or even marriages are under threat because of the state their other half leaves the toilet in after use could find their prayers are answered, thanks to a new invention from Singapore.
According to the Straits Times, inventors at the Nanyand Technological University's mechanical and aerospace engineering faculty developed a toilet seat that flips up automatically when a user gets up, thus keeping it in perfect condition for the next person who needs to use the porcelain throne.
Aptly, the device has been named the Marriage Saviour and was revealed to attendees of the University's Engineering Innovation and Design Open House last week.
The teams that exhibited at the event were second-year faculty students who had to develop an engineering invention with a workable business plan as part of their studies.
And last week Kitchen & Bath Design News reported that toilets are fast becoming the focal point of bathrooms, rivalling the bathtub in terms of contemporary design and presence.
