A third keen to self-build own bathroom suite?

The British love of home renovation has not faded, it would seem, with a third of consumers claiming they would be keen to build their own house – and perhaps install their own bathrooms.

This is according to the Norwich and Peterborough (N&P) Building Society, which found 30 per cent of Britons would consider having a new property built from scratch if they had enough money.

N&P mortgage manager Richard Barker said: “Self build is a market with huge potential which could have many benefits for those willing to carry out a self build project.”

The biggest attraction to this sort of project is being able to tailor-make one’s own home, with 42 per cent claiming a house that suits them perfectly would be their dream.

And DIY fans who do not have the time or money to do a complete build from scratch could tackle their bathroom cabinets, because according to style journalist Gabrielle Fagan writing for Wales Online, this can be a good quick-fix for a tired loo.
