Attack the bathroom suite ‘with colourful paint’

For those on a budget that’s ‘super-tight’, going at the bathroom with a couple of cans of bright paint can make all the difference.

This is according to Cortney Novogratz, TV interior designer writing for HGTV’s Design Happens blog, who used some pots of bold emulsion to transform the home of Deborah and Katherine Chen, who bought an old house by the sea to use as a surf pad.

The stripy, colourful design used in the Chen sisters’ beach house may also work well in a bathroom, with different shades of pink and blue making cute candy patterns that could work well for a washroom belonging to a little girl or kooky teen.

“Deborah and Katherine’s home is now light and airy with a cool beachy feel,” Ms Novogratz said.

This might be the ideal interior design theme to follow if revamping a bathroom for teenagers, because last week, Becomegorgeous.com claimed things that evoke a sense of the sea or surfing are universal style winners for this generation.

Bathroom accessories are a relatively cheap way to smarten up an aging bathroom too, and Better Bathrooms have a new range of contemporary accessories out now at excellent prices.
