Bathroom suites ‘must be pleasurable but practical’

When tackling a bathroom renovation project, one expert has reminded consumers the space must be aesthetically pleasing and functional at the same time.

Writing for the Yorkshire Post, award-winning interior designer Jamie Hempsall said: “The important thing to ensure with any bathroom is that is a pleasurable area to inhabit, but, ultimately, it must be practical – easy to use and clean.”

He recommended installing a separate bath and shower and using mirrored bathroom cabinets to enhance a feeling of spaciousness.

Furthermore, Mr Hempsall noted that it was vital people pay close attention to their lighting design and how the room will be heated and ventilated, to avoid a washroom that is dim and fuggy.

And rising power prices could encourage more householders to revamp their bathroom to make it more energy efficient, as Gocompare.com has revealed that being as green as possible is the best way to combat eye-watering utility bills.
