According to interior designer George Bond, mirrors and metallics can create an illusion of spaciousness in a teeny washroom.

“If you have a bath, sometimes I’ve decorated and put a huge mirror on the wall and that just opens the space and it makes it look big,” he said.

Mr Bond also suggested pearly bathroom tiles that work well with lighting and complement reflective surfaces, adding that even though they can be a little more expensive than other ceramics, householders will be rewarded with an attractive interior.
