Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)
As of the 1st October Part G of the Building Regulations became law. In effect, this relates to hot water safety and water efficiency and aims to reduce the number of scalding incidents, as well as water wastage.
Under the regulations the NEW build market MUST fit baths with a protective device to limit water temperature to 48.C.
Currently there is no mandatory situation in respect of the refurbishment market. However, it is certain that this standard will transfer over to this market as installers treat this as being part of the normal installation process.
