A man has bought a block of public toilets overlooking the Norfolk coast for ú104,000 as a present for his beloved wife.
According to the Daily Mail, builder Nick Willan thought the imposing public convenience would make the ideal 30th anniversary gift for his other half Sue and in defence of his quirky purchase the 53-year-old claimed it was worth the money to do something a bit different.
The two-storey Victorian building stands on a row of cosy beach huts and Mr Willan has revealed he has plans to turn it into a romantic beachside retreat.
He explained that he hopes to turn it in to a modern beach house, complete with spiral staircase and big windows to make the most of the North Sea views.
And making something beautiful out of grotty public restroom appears to be a trend sweeping the nation, as the Bexley Times reported this week that two such outbuildings sold for ú239,000 andá ú39,000 iná Bexleyheath and Bexley village to a mystery buyer.
