Bidets are not as common a bathroom fixture in the UK as in Europe, where they are ubiquitous. Well, advocates of the bidet claim its advantage over simple toilet paper use in three main areas: it can deliver greater cleanliness and a ‘fresh feeling’; a warm wash with a bidet can help relieve the discomfort of haemorrhoids; a bidet can help to give an elderly person or someone with reduced mobility the chance to regain their independence and dignity in the bathroom.

In terms of style, a bidet can offer a degree of symmetry in your bathroom design, when placed next to the toilet.
