The battery compartment is cleverly positioned on the back of the mirror. Simply remove the cover from the battery box, insert 8 AA 1.5 V batteries (not included), and reattach the cover. The convenient rocker switch, located at the bottom centre when mounted in portrait orientation, allows easy operation of the backlit feature.
