Homeowners wishing to design their bathroom suites for use between both young boys and girls could do so by opting for neutral objects.
Home stylist Emily Clark noted in her blog emilyaclark.blogspot.com that she needed to create a washroom that was suitable for both sexes.
The expert noted she was able to achieve this by opting for a paint colour named MacKinac, which she considered to be a good compromise between boy-friendly blue and pink a shade commonly associated with girls.
A yellow faux bamboo mirror then provided the basis for her colour scheme, while other bathroom accessories such as a striped shower curtain kept the aesthetic modern and fresh.
Ms Clark added: While I didnt want a theme-y bathroom, I did want it to feel like it belonged to the kids.Ø
She added some large hooks on the wall were just what was needed to prevent the children from continuing to leave their bath towels on the floor.
Jim Stratton, marketing sales manager for US-based DreamMaker in South Ogden recently told the Standard-Examiner that warm tones are proving popular choices for bathroom cabinets at present.
